June 2025I saw Dr. Goyal in January of 2024. Previously, in late 2022 and all of 2023, I was on antibiotics for sinus infections at least 6-7 times. Now, thanks to Dr. Goyal, in 17 months I still have not had a sinus infection. I have been following his recommendation to use a salt solution in a rinse bottle regularly. Ive changed it to four stars since hes obviously a very knowledgeable doctor. I can not change the review to 5 stars since I dont know if his bedside manner has changed.July 2024I have to change my review from January since it was a bit harsh. I went for the CT scan, which Dr. Goyal ordered and began to use a salt solution in a rinse bottle regularly, as the doctor recommended. This helped improve my condition. After seeing Dr. Goyal, I went to the pulmonologist. He explained that Dr. Goyals approach was good, and then he took the time to review and explain the CT scan results. Although hes a pulmonologist, he was able to explain how the ears, nose, and throat all tie together with the lungs. After all, it is the respiratory system. Dr. Goyal seems to be a very good ENT. However, his bedside manner needs to greatly improve if he wishes to gain the trust of his patients. Patients need to feel heard, and he needs to do a better job explaining his course of treatment.Back in January-I explained to Dr. Goyal that I have been coughing since mid-November. I have been getting prednisone and antibiotics, but they didnt knock out the infection entirely. I cough up yellow-green, thick, and sticky sputum. I explained that I would like a culture to determine what type of infection I have. Dr. Goyals response was that cultures arent reliable since they can get contaminated, so he doesnt do them. I believe as soon as Dr. Goyal heard that Im coughing up sputum he diagnosed it to be a lung issue; therefore, I dont believe he heard when I said that it now even drains from my sinuses. Or perhaps he couldnt understand me due to the coughing and the hoarseness of my voice. Dr. Goyal told me several times that hes not a pulmonologist. He checked my sinuses with the endoscope but didnt have much to say. I also told him that my throat was tender, and I think my glands are swollen. He never checked my throat. The reason I choose Dr. Goyal is because the website mentioned that one of his specialties is the thyroid. I have hypothyroidism, which made him the perfect doctor for me. However, upon meeting him, I dont feel he listened to me. Dr. Goyals course of treatment was for me to have a CT scan, in addition to other tests. I was all for it since I would like to figure out why Im continuously sick. Dr. Goyal told me that Ill get a call from his office in 3-4 weeks to set it up. What? I would have to suffer possibly for another month? He didnt want to give me any more antibiotics or prednisone because I had so much already. I told him he had to give me something because I cant take much more of this, at which time he prescribed an antibiotic. I left very disappointed with this office visit.
