I ended up with an ear infection that I went to a local Immediate care to take a look at get medication for. I was diagnosed with a middle ear infection, got my Amoxicillin scrip and was on my way. Forward 3 days later and Ive got zero relief and my left ear has actually gotten worse. Ive never had an ear infection before so I was quite concerned at this point. I looked up ENTs and saw that Specialty Care Institute was highly reviewed, so I took a chanceAnd let me tell you, I cant be happier that I did! When I called to set an appointment they told me that they didnt have any new patient opening until the following week. I mentioned that, that probably wasnt going to work for me as I was starting to really get nervous and anxious about what was going on with my ears/infection since I was on high dose meds for 3 days and it was getting worse. I was then told to hold for a minute. Then I got good news, they were going to get me in as the last patient if the day in Elgin! Just hearing that started to put me at ease and I was grateful.I arrived at my appointment that afternoon and was greeted promptly and waited just a few minutes before being called back. The initial chat with the nurse helped put me at ease a little more (my anxiety was high as I had no clue what was going on with my health at this time) as she was kind, empathetic, and genuinely concerned not only with my health/condition, but also my nerves.Once Dr. Dina came in, I was immediately at ease. Her bedside manner is top notch and made my anxiety melt away. Then it was time to see what all was going on with me and find out how bad it wasturned out to be a case of swimmers ear (Outer ear infection, NOT a middle ear infection!) Anxietygone. She did an extraordinary job explaining everything; The issue I was having, the treatment, and what to expect over the next few days. She then checked out my nose/sinuses and throat. I guess because of my tonsils (the size) she asked, Do you snore a lot? Yup! Then when asked if Id be interested in doing a sleep study to help with that issue, I couldnt say Yes fast enough. The entire experience was simple, informative, and genuine. I highly, highly recommend the Specialty Care Institute and Dr. Dina.
